    SEI Endorsement Workshop Registration

Merrimack College is approved by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) to offer the Sheltered English Instruction (SEI) course outside of the master's program as a stand-alone course for the endorsement only.

This course is offered for 0-credit, pass/fail, through the graduate teacher education program in the School of Education & Social Policy (SESP). Students will be enrolled as non-matriculated graduate students, and will receive an official transcript from the college. Once the course is successfully completed, the licensure and field placement office within the SESP will provide the necessary endorsement to the DESE.

The course requires synchronous instruction, with additional asynchronous activities.

Qualifications for the SEI course for endorsement only:

    • Students must have an active license through the DESE
    • Students must hold a bachelor's degree (any discipline)
    • Students must not be currently enrolled in a teacher education program at Merrimack (SEI is already part of the program)

The cost of this SEI course is $500. Students will receive a tuition bill from the Bursar's office. Course vouchers for supervision will be accepted.

Course enrollment is not confirmed or verified until receiving official notification from the School of Education & Social Policy.
